In only a few minutes, the smart glass* display case can be manually or automatically controlled to lighten or darken enough to view and display your rarity, or otherwise to shield it from the damaging effects of light.

* smart glass is an electrochromic or SPD coated glass with a very low current and low voltage can be controlled to change its transparency to any state between clear and opaque. The smart glass blocks not only ultraviolet wavelengths of light, but visible light as well. In a normal indoor environment, visible light can cause articles with low lightfastness (stamps, art prints ...) to fade in as little as a few months, see effects of visible light.

** measurements taken with ELSEC UV Type 763 monitor with 100 watt tungsten light source placed 6 inches in front of electrochromic smart glass and with monitor alternatively placed directly at surface of glass in front and behind the glass.
